Redline Magazine - Closing, Its All Over! R.I.P.

This is breaking news, the popular UK tuning magazine Redline by Future Publishing will disappear from our shelves after issue 174. That means there are only 2 more issues then nothing more than a memory. With the loss of Max Power also this year you begin to wonder how long other  similar magazines will survive.

Below is the official statement from the Redline Team:
Since breaking the news that Future was proposing to close Redline magazine, we’ve been blown away by the kind words of support posted by our fans on facebook. Unfortunately, I must break the news that issue 174 will be the final edition of Redline to be published.

The whole team is gutted by the news, but are glad that we get to produce one final cracking magazine.
So a huge thanks to everyone that’s supported us over the years. From loyal readers and advertisers to all our mates in the office that have helped make Redline such a fantastic magazine; cheers guys! And a special thanks to our 7,342 facebook fans for showing that the tuning community can be such a knowledgeable and inspirational place.
We’ve had an amazing time doing a job that we all love and we want to go out with a bang! So please support us and buy the next two issues of the UK’s No.1 Performance Tuning Magazine. Issue 173 is on sale 22 September and our final (sniff) issue, 174, hits the shelves on sale 20 October. They’ll both be crammed full of essential tuning advice, inspirational cars, tech guides, tests and some special surprises.
In the meantime, we remain passionate about tuning, and will continue to update facebook and share some of the highlights from 13 years of Redline goodness, including a certain Castrol stickered Supra that’s currently parked outside the office. Anyone fancy donuts for lunch?
Thanks again for your support!

Max Power Magazine 1993 - 2011 - Bad Times!

  • Sticking their name to everything, you name the crap they stuck their name on it!
  • Thinking "Maxing" was a real term!
  • Max Power Live.
  • Changing the magazines direction - good idea that one lads!
  • Filling the mag with more beaver than a dam!
  • Boasting about Mag size "Biggest Issue Ever" when all they did was put in more adverts, nothing editorial!
  • Choosing to be a spineless mag (not hard bound) and increasing the price point.
  • Manky "Cruise Girls".
  • Crap project cars. Project Slam  anyone, how about a Kia Soul, thought not!

Max Power Magazine R.I.P.

UK's Max Power Magazine Breaking news: The February issue of Max Power, on sale 12th January 2011, will be the last issue in its current guise. It will be a collectable super-sized issue celebrating modifying. As a big finale for the monthly mag it will embrace all that is great within our scene. This will be an event that’s not to be missed...

A bit of an update on this story from the Editor of Max Power (source unknown, believed to be from an email) :

Hi
Bauer Media has reluctantly taken the decision today to suspend the monthly publication of Max Power magazine and its accompanying website.

We anticipate that the February issue of Max Power, on sale 12th January 2011, will be the last issue in its current guise and will be a collectable super-sized issue celebrating modifying past and present. It will embrace all that is great within our scene and boast more feature cars than ever before. This really will be an event that’s not to be missed and a fitting celebration to the incredibly colourful, loud and irreverent history of Max Power.

It is our intention to keep the Max Power brand alive in the future with a series of “one shots” and special issues and some possible exciting new
adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for future new projects and we will endeavour to keep you updated with all the latest news from the Max Power brand.

I’d like to personally thank you for your support of Max Power.
